Disclaimer: This is going to be a post where I will share a few essential points for your small business marketing strategy. Unlike other posts, I will be adding new topics every once in a while ( i will try to do it once a week). So stay tuned!
It’s no secret that having a solid online presence is essential for small businesses in today’s digital age. Not only does it allow you to reach more potential customers, but it also gives you the opportunity to show off what makes your brand unique.
It can be challenging to compete with the bigger guys as a small business. You don’t have the same budget, the same resources, or sometimes even the same products. But that doesn’t mean you can’t win. It just means you have to be smart about your marketing.
To get you started, here are few ideas to help you get the most out of your small business marketing efforts:
1. Identify your customers
Who are you trying to reach with your products or services? Once you know, you can tailor your marketing strategy accordingly.
Some small business marketing strategies will only make sense for certain types of clients, and
- Are you selling to consumers or other businesses?
- Do you have geographic limitations in your services, or can you sell worldwide?
- Do you have limitations in terms of capacity, or are you able to serve as many clients as possible?
- How do your customers like to get informed about your product or services?
- What are their social behaviours?
- Which generation do they belong?
By answering those questions, you will be able to identify what makes more sense for your business.
2. Have a strong value proposition.
Why should customers do business with you instead of your competitors? Make sure this is clear on your website, in your advertising, and all of your small business marketing materials. Beyond that, it should be live in your staff’s hearts. You and your team should have this clear and be the first ones reassuring that.
3. Your existing customers are your most valuable asset.
Your current customers are your best advocates. They’re more likely to recommend you to others and buy from you again. Make sure you’re taking advantage of this by thanking them for their business, providing stellar customer service, and offering incentives for referrals
Your best prospects are already familiar with your business – so reach out to them and remind them why they should continue doing business with you. Show them what’s new, offer discounts, and make it easy for them to buy from you again.
When planning your marketing strategies, it is extremely important to have your actual customers in mind, not just to find people like them but also to create plans to keep them warm and engaged with your company.
A good example would be a monthly newsletter with your current promos or a customer club where they can take advantage of being a recurring customer of your business.
4. Own your online presence by having a website.
When someone searches for your business online, you want your website to be the first thing they see. A website is a powerful way to showcase your products and services, and it can also help you rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs).
A website is one of the most important tools in your marketing arsenal. It gives you a place to share your story, showcase your products and services, and connect with customers. And it’s essential for appearing in search results.
